The Royal West Sussex NHS Trust - St Richards Hospital is committed to providing excellent facilities for patients and staff but there’s always more that can be done, that’s why the Charitable Trust exists.
The Trust works to ensure:
-
That patients receive the best and most modern treatment
-
That their stay is made as comfortable as possible, and
-
That staff have the best working environment in order to provide first class patient care.
The St Richard's Hospital Charitable Trust was set up to manage the many donations that are given to the Hospital for the benefit of patients and staff and now manages nearly 100 individual funds. Most wards in the hospital have their own fund and donations from patients and visitors alike are always welcomed.
The money will then be managed by the charitable trust to ensure that all donations are carefully recorded, thanked and invested until required. The charitable trust also work with committees on various appeals around the hospital and we have just concluded the appeal for the cancer day unit. For this appeal, the committee arranged various events and fundraising initiatives to raise money to build the cancer day unit, which will provide a more efficient service for patients accessing the facilities of the hospital for their cancer treatment. In the future, they will continue to organise annual events for funds to be used as a ward fund for the Fernhurst Centre.
We run a range of fundraising initiatives from the office from recycling mobiles to over seas events, organising events and skydives to the lottery and general fundraising. Advances in treatment, medical knowledge and scientific technology move so fast that the challenge is to keep pace with the revolution, that is why it is important to keep raising funds so that patients can continue to receive the best possible care.
